Pen pals (or penpals, pen-pals, penfriends or pen friends) are people who regularly write to each other, particularly via snail mail. Pen pals are usually strangers whose relationship is based primarily, or even solely, on their exchange of letters.
Linking Generations students wrote letters to their linked/partnered seniors. Then the seniors replied back. During the year, our seniors and students got to know each other remarkably well.
To celebrate, and yes, to finally meet, Aster Gardens Retirement Residences held an outdoor patio BBQ for the teens and seniors.
What an excellent way to finish this years Pen Pals program !!
