Our Linking Generations students and seniors are an integral part of our success. So, it’s only fitting that we share this success with family members. This week, our Family Meet and Greet for Chartwell Emerald Hills and Lakeland Ridge Junior High was an overwhelming success !
Each participating student and senior was encouraged to invite one family member (over 18 yrs. of age) to attend our special evening Linking Generations visit. The Meet and Greet is planned like a regular Linking Generations visit, as we have a structured activity planned to do together. It does prove to be an enjoyable evening for all involved.
We have received so many wonderful comments from our attending participants:
- Simply put – this is a lovely program. The connection between the youth and the seniors is just what the world needs, not the regression of generations we normally see.
- After each Linking Generations visit, my daughter comes home so excited and with stories to share. This program has given her self confidence and an understanding of seniors.
- This program exemplifies that no matter what age the generations are from, relationships can be built and fostered.
- Linking Generations has benefited my parents at Chartwell Emerald Hills. Thank you!
- I see maturity in my son with his approach to his partnered seniors. I was very impressed.
- It is surprising to hear the amount of knowledge young people have today.
- I loved to hear that we can visit our seniors over the summer months.
- I really enjoyed meeting my daughters ‘honorary; grandmother who can share different lived experiences with her.
- It was an established friendship that was strengthened tonight, because of this special visit.
