” When I took on the school role for Linking Generations, I was most excited to continue the deeply rooted tradition that our school started many years ago. What I didn’t fully understand at the time was the impact these relationships would have — not only on the seniors, but on our students as well.
It has been amazing to witness our students’ determination to be present, prepared, and attentive to their senior partners. I remember running into one student — someone I never would have expected — crying in the hallway because they weren’t feeling well and had to cancel their visit at the last minute. They were so concerned about how their absence would affect their senior grandparent. It was beautiful, raw, and so sincere.
The Senior Tea opened my eyes even more to how meaningful these relationships are — and how much they are reciprocated. I am so blessed to have said “yes” last year, and I’m truly honored to be given the opportunity again next year.
We’re already excited for next year. Thank you again, and wishing you a wonderful few months of rest before we do it all over again!
