CANADA 150 CONTEST WINNERS

Linking Generations recently partnered with LINKages Society (Calgary) in a special contest for the Canada 150 event! Linking Generations challenged our youth to learn about the older adult in their community and vice verse, in order to learn, grow, and share experiences! Our submissions to this contest focused on connections between different generations of Canadians.

I am happy to announce the winners for the Canada 150 Youth contest have been chosen and we have three groups from Linking Generations who have won!

1st place ($250 prize): St. Theresa Middle School Students, pictured with LG Program Coordinator

2nd place ($150 prize): Lakeland Ridge Junior High Students
3rd place ($100 prize): Lakeland Ridge Junior High Students, Pictured with School Principal and LG Program Coordinator

I thank and applaud all of our Linking Generations Students for their wonderful submissions! The LINKages judging panel had a tough time deciding, but ultimately it came down to points awarded in categories of creativity, effort, and knowledge or learning shared.
